Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 for the Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics trainer who would become Comaneci's coach later in life she discovered her when she was six. Her first competition was in the national junior championships in where she placed 13th in 1969. In the year 1970, she took home the title. In 1972, at an event for communist-controlled countries' junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and '74 she was the junior champion in all aspects. In 1975, she took home four golds and one silver at her first senior international contest. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. In 1976, she was the world's first woman to use a backwards-double salto in order to take off parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she was performing on traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the entertainment business as a teenager. She started her career performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister, in the traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating performances.
