April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She began piano and guitar lessons in the 7th grade, which ignited the interest of her. April Lockhart composed her first single, Different at the age 12 years old. At 14, April spent much time writing songs and honed her musical abilities. Over the next few months, she began taking notes together with her dad in LA in addition to NY. The month also saw her include different topics related to some of her friends dealing in the area of bullying by peers and teens who commit suicide through the songs Take my Hand. Lockhart has become a sought-after lifestyle blogger and having partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia, has built an impressive audience. The disability she has is part of her personality, but it's not all of the image. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability on her Instagram account, but she does not make it the main focus of her story. What is the message? There is more to us than our physical selves. Our identities are multifaceted and include a myriad of dimensions. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I do not believe that disability is what defines me. I don't intend to be an influencer on disability because I have plenty to offer." My day-today life is not dependent on it. I lead a normal, everyday life and find my own solutions to issues. Since it's a part of who I am and something worthy of talking about. Lockhart encourages us to keep striving to be self-accepting. Still, she acknowledges going through phases of being uncomfortable with her body and feeling uncomfortable in certain clothes which showed her arms. She is able to wear anything she'd like, and proudly shares photos of her in these outfits. Self-love she said is like a journey. "I believe that you'll ever get in that place," she said. The same is true for everybody regardless of their levels of anxiety. I think it is important to be surrounded by individuals who truly see the person you are.
